Tax Assistance and Information for People with Disabilities DABC (Tax AID DABC) is a new program offered by Disability Alliance BC. Through this program, we can assist people who are receiving the Persons with Disabilities (PWD) benefit or the Persons with Persistent and Multiple Barriers (PPMB) benefit with simple income tax filings and information/referrals. Haven’t filed your taxes for numerous years? Don’t worry, we can help.
There are a number of financial benefits available to British Columbians who file their taxes. The money received from these benefits will not usually affect PWD or PPMB assistance cheques. These benefits are listed below:
Please feel free to refer people receiving PWD and PPMB with unfiled taxes to Tax AID DABC. For more information, please contact Sam Turcott at 604-872-1278/1-800-663-1278 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you would like us to mail you copies of Tax AID's brochure and poster, please email Chloe at email@example.com. The brochure can be downloaded here.
Additional information is available on Tax AID DABC's new website, www.taxaiddabc.org!
We have produced a Help Sheet that describes how people receiving provincial disability benefits in BC can prepare and submit a 2015 income tax return for free over the internet. Download it here: Help Sheet #16: Guide to Filing Income Taxes for People Receiving PWD/PPMB
